Wade Allain-Marcus

Wade Allain-Marcus is a director/writer as well as an actor, for which he’s best known for his roles in the FX series, Snowfall, HBO’s series Insecure, and the highly acclaimed British TV series, Sherlock. Allain-Marcus first established himself in feature films as an actor, with small supporting roles in A Boy Called Hate (1995), written and directed by his father Mitch Marcus and starring Scott Caan; writer-director Bobby Roth’s indie drama, Berkeley (2005); filmmaker Nicole Holofcener’s comedy-drama, Friends with Money (2006), with Jennifer Aniston, Joan Cusack, Catherine Keener, and Frances McDormand; My Sassy Girl (2008), co-starring Elisha Cuthbert and Jesse Bradford; and the Antoine Fuqua-directed cop drama, Brooklyn’s Finest (2009), co-starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Lili Taylor, and Ellen Barkin.

Allain-Marcus’ supporting roles continued under Michael Dowse’s direction in the comedy, Take Me Home Tonight (2011), starring Topher Grace; and then in director/writer Tina Gordon’s family reunion comedy, Peeples (2013), starring Craig Robinson, Kerry Washington, and David Alan Grier. Allain-Marcus earned his first co-starring feature role with director/writer Byron Q.’s drama, Las Vegas Story (2015), and then made his feature filmmaking debut as co-director (with brother Jesse), co-writer (with Peter Hagen), and starring in the comedy-drama, French Dirty (2015), with Arjun Gupta and Melina Lizette, and which premiered at the Los Angeles film festival.

Wade Allain-Marcus was cast in a supporting role in the comedy, Standing Up, Falling Down (2019), co-starring Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz, which was written by Peter Hoare and directed by Matt Ratner, and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Allain-Marcus had a major supporting role in the crime comedy, Die in a Gunfight (2021), directed by Collin Schiffli, and co-starring Andrew Barrer, Diego Boneta, Justin Chatwin, Billy Crudup, and Emmanuele Chriqui.

Allain-Marcus headed up his first feature film as director only for the black comedy (written by Chuck Hayward), Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (2024), co-starring Simone Joy Jones, Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, Jermaine Fowler, June Squibb, and Nicole Richie, and which was a remake of the 1991 movie of the same title.
