Tristan Thompson
Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Tristan Gregory Thompson’s journey into acting began with a childhood passion for performance. From mimicking dance moves from “Grease” at the age of two to landing his first role in a local theater production of “Aladdin” at 11, creating a love and curious expression for the world of acting.
While initially unsure about pursuing acting professionally, Tristan’s dedication only grew stronger over time. Weekly trips to Houston with his Mom, Jennifer Thompson, spent training with Mari Ferguson laid the groundwork for his future career. “It takes a really long time to admit to yourself what you truly love and want to do. And where I’m from there weren’t many avenues of creativity I could connect with until I moved to Austin.” Although, Tristan’s time during college at The University of Texas at Austin, Tristan explored other creative avenues, including short film projects, Adobe VFX video editing, live music video & photography, but mainly running/designing/marketing a clothing brand.
After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, Tristan found himself at a crossroads, torn between his love for design and his quiet but growing passion for acting. It wasn’t until a chance encounter in 2021 that he fully embraced his calling. A producer, recognizing his potential, offered him an extra background role in the indie feature film “Deltopia.” The casting directors still had some minor roles to fill. After being asked if he had any work to show. Being armed with nothing but determination and raw talent, Tristan sat down for six hours recording a comedic monologue from Richard Kelly’s “Donnie Darko”, ultimately landing the role and kick-starting his acting career.
Since then, Tristan has put his foot in the door of the indie film scene. From landing supporting roles as comic relief in “Deltopia”, the SXSW Best Narrative Feature Winner, “Bob Trevino Likes It”, and Jordan Ross’s Netflix Top Ten, “The Tudor” to portraying various characters in projects such as “Sweet Dreams” and showcases his dramatic range in “Prey”. He’s now shared the screen with industry veterans like Johnny Knoxville, Garret Hedlund, Bryan Van Zandt, Ryan Phillippe, Emilie Hirsch and many more.
Drawing from a range of acting techniques learned from mentors like Deborah and Hadley Dion, Tristan continues to refine his craft with each new role. His infectious enthusiasm, unwavering dedication, and undeniable talent, Tristan Gregory Thompson is poised to make a significant impact on the world of film.
