Shonali Bose is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker who grew up in Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi and has spent her adult life in the US. Both her feature narrative films – Amu and Margarita, With a Straw played in over 150 film festivals including TIFF and Berlin and won numerous prestigious international awards (over 40). They had critically acclaimed theatrical releases in India, North America and Japan. Shonali is also the author of a Penguin published novel based on her screenplay – Amu. She has served on the jury of several international film festivals. But what she is most proud of is being the mother of her two sons Ishan and Vivan. She has relocated recently to Mumbai and is working on her next feature film as well as a narrative episodic drama for television commissioned by Paramount Pictures and Anonymous Content.
