Ramsey (birth: Richard Lee Ramsey) is a filmmaker who has directed, written, edited, and/or produced movies with Christian themes since 2006, when he was director/writer/editor/executive producer of the low-budget ($30,000) mid-length feature, The Oath of Desormeau (2006), with David Attebury and Erin Arnold.
Ramsey made 14 short films from 2007 to 2024, and then during this period was writer/director and co-editor of the country music-set marital drama inspired by the Biblical Song of Solomon, The Song (2014), with Alan Powell and Ali Faulkner, and which was released by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
Ramsey was co-director/co-writer (with Joel Smallbone) of the biopic drama about Smallbone’s family, Unsung Hero (2024), starring Daisy Betts, released in the wide pattern by Lionsgate.

Richard L. Ramsey was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Ramsey has a brother, John Ramsey, with whom he has collaborated on several short comedy films. Ramsey attended McLennan Community College and then transferred to the University of Houston, where he studied theater and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Ramsey has been married to Kristina Ramsey since 2002; the couple has five children.
