Nikki Si’ulepa
Nikki has worked as an actor, writer, director, and camera operator in the film and television industry since her 1995 debut role in Ian Mune’s, Whole of the Moon where she won two Best Actress awards for her portrayal of ‘Marty’, a street-kid with cancer. In 2024 Nikki plays hardball ‘Superintendent Dominique Stevens’ in Dark City: The Cleaner T.V. series and is opposite Elijah Wood in feature film, Bookworm. In 2023 and 2021, Nikki plays town sheriff ‘Constance’ in dystopian T.V. series, Creamerie directed by Shadow in the Cloud’s Roseanne Liang and is ‘DSS Pilau’ in Kiwi/Canadian thriller, The Sounds in 2020.
Nikki has played a range of characters from drama to comedy in Super City, Housebound, My Life is Murder, One Thousand Ropes, Filthy Rich, and stars in New Zealand’s first lesbian comedy web series, Pot Luck series 1 & 2, where she won Best Actress at the 2017 Rome Web Awards. Nikki cameos as ‘Hemi’ in her directorial debut rom-com feature film, Same But Different: A True New Zealand Love Story which sat at the NZ box office for thirteen weeks.
As a writer and director, Nikki’s films have screened at international festivals including Berlinale, Tribeca, Sydney, HIFF, L.A. Skins, FIFO, Melbourne, Queerscreen, NZIFF, and imagineNATIVE winning awards and nominations in L.A., New York, and Paris. Nikki was one of 70 filmmakers from around the world chosen to attend Berlinale Talents in 2017 and the only Kiwi / Pacific Islander to attend.
