Naomi Scott (birthname: Naomi Grace Scott) is a pop singer-turned-actor who made her big-screen debut opposite Antonio Banderas and Kate del Castillo, with Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Gabriel Byrne, and Adriana Barraza, in The 33 (2015), based on the San Jose Mine disaster in Chile in 2010 and directed by Chilean filmmaker Patricia Riggen.

Scott had a deleted role in Ridley Scott’s The Martian (2015). Then he landed her first major role as Kimberly Hart/Pink Ranger in Power Rangers (2017), with Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Banks under Dean Israelite’s direction, but which lost significant money for Lionsgate Films ($142.5 million gross against $105 million costs).

Scott had her breakthrough role as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Aladdin (2019), the rare fantasy entertainment directed by Guy Ritchie and co-starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, and Marwan Kenzari, and proving to be a big money-winner for Disney with over $1 billion in global grosses (on $183 million costs).

Scott took on her second major co-starring role as one of Charlie’s Angels (2019), the third, next-gen big-screen version of the 1976-1981 TV series written and directed by Elizabeth Banks with Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska, Djimon Hounsou, and Patrick Stewart, but which was a box-office bomb for Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Releasing ($73 million gross against $55 million costs).

Naomi Scott co-starred in DreamWorks Pictures’ sci-fi comedy, Distant (2024), co-starring Anthony Ramos and Zachary Quinto, but though it was filmed in 2020, has still not been released by Universal Pictures. Scott starred in director/writer/producer Parker Finn’s anticipated horror sequel, Smile 2 (2024), with Rosemarie DeWitt, Kyle Gallner, Lukas Gage, and Raul Castillo, and released wide by Paramount Pictures and produced by Temple Hill Entertainment.

Scott continued her string of starring roles in director/writer/producer Yaniv Raz’s time-traveling romantic drama, Eternal Return (date to be announced), co-starring Kit Harrington, Simon Callow, Sonoya Mizuno, and Jay Lycurgo, and produced by Village Roadshow Pictures. Scott joined the extremely eclectic cast of Pete Davidson, Franz Rogowski, Sean Harris, and Orlando Bloom in writer-director David Michôd’s stoner movie, Wizards! (date to be announced), whose story was co-written by actor Joel Edgerton co-produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and released by A24.
