Miranda Cosgrove (birthname: Miranda Taylor Cosgrove) has been a popular child and teen actor, including as title star of the hit Nickelodeon series, iCarly (2007-2012), after she had already made her movie debut as one of Jack Black’s eager students in Richard Linklater’s School of Rock (2003). Cosgrove was cast as the voice of Margo in Universal Pictures’/Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me franchise, starting with Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2 (2013), Despicable Me 3 (2017), and Despicable Me 4 (2024), all starring Steve Carell and directed by Chris Renaud.

Cosgrove preceded her voice work in Despicable Me with a role in the English dub version of the Thai animated movie, Khan Kluay (2006), with fellow voice actors Martin Short, Amy Carlson, and Carl Reiner, and in another international animated children’s movie from Peru and Argentina, A Mouse Tale (2012), with fellow dub actors Tom Arnold, Drake Bell, Jon Heder, Cary Elwes, and Jon Lovitz. Cosgrove later co-starred in her first sci-fi movie, 3022 (2019), produced and directed by John Suits, co-starring Omar Epps, Kate Walsh, and Angus Macfadyen, and released by Saban Films.

Miranda Cosgrove co-starred with Ryder McLaughlin and Vince Vaughn in the skateboarding movie, North Hollywood (2021), co-produced and directed by Mikey Alfred and screened drive-in style during the COVID-19 pandemic at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Cosgrove had a supporting role in Drugstore June (2024), director/writer/producer Nicholaus Goossen’s indie crime comedy written and starring Esther Povitsky, with Booby Lee, Beverly D’Angelo, and Haley Joel Osment, and distributed by Utopia and Shout! Studios.
