Micheal Ward is a rising actor in British cinema, having shifted from a career in modeling. His feature film debut was in a supporting role in writer-producer-director-star Noel Clarke’s finale to his “Hood Trilogy,” Brotherhood (2016), starring Clarke and Jason Maza. In his first co-starring role, Ward played opposite Stephen Odubola in the hip-hop drama Blue Story (2019), written and directed by Rapman (aka Andrew Onwubolu), earning Ward the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
Ward’s first Hollywood project was the Gina Prince-Bythewood-directed superhero action movie for Netflix, The Old Guard (2020), starring Charlize Theron, KiKi Lyne, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Ward played a supporting role in Netflix’s poorly reviewed drama Beauty (2022), directed by Andrew Dosunmu and starring Gracie Marie Bradley, Niecy Nash, Giancarlo Esposito, and Sharon Stone, and premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Ward’s most prominent role to date arrived in late 2022 (after a Telluride film festival premiere) in Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light, co-starring Oliva Colman with Colin Firth and Toby Jones. Ward joined the large cast in writer-producer-director Jeymes Samuel’s Biblical epic, The Book of Clarence (2023), co-starring LaKeith Stanfield, Omar Sy, RJ Cyler, Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, Anna Diop, David Oyelowo, Alfre Woodard, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Personal Details
Born to mother Keisha Ward and an unnamed father (who died in a car crash in 1999), Micheal Ward was raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica, with his three sisters. At age four, Ward moved to the East London community of Hackney with his family and then later to nearby Romford, also in East London. Ward schooled, graduated from Chadwell Heath Academy, and continued performing arts studies at Epping Forest College. While studying there, Ward signed up with a talent agency, launching his career in modeling and performing in music videos. Ward gained United Kingdom citizenship in 2015.
