Lia Frankland

Now sixteen years old, actress Lia Frankland has become one to watch in the entertainment industry, quickly becoming known for the dynamic characters she creates on screen. At the age of eight, she appeared opposite Oscar winner Charlize Theron in the critically acclaimed Focus Features film “Tully.” Lia received a Joey Award (Canada, 2018) and Young Entertainer Award (US, 2019) for her role as Theron’s on-screen daughter, Sarah. In the spring of 2021, Lia took on the role of hockey podcaster Mary Joe in the Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks: Gamechangers. She has gone on to appear in Netflix series, including The Baby-Sitters Club, Maid, and Devil in Ohio.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Lia began her journey in the entertainment industry at just four years old, taking vocal lessons and falling in love with musical theater. At age six her parents enrolled her in acting classes, and her coach immediately recognized her innate talent. With Lia’s parents’ blessing, the coach passed along some scenes to a handful of top agents in Canada and within a week she was signed to an agency.

Lia’s first film credit was playing the bullied outsider Avery in the Lifetime movie “Betting on the Bride,” for which she won Best Principal or Supporting Actress in a TV movie (age 9 – 18) at the 2017 Joey Awards in Canada. On the television front, her first role was playing Francie, an asthmatic young camper on Freeform’s supernatural series “Dead of Summer.”

When she isn’t on set working Lia enjoys playing the piano, guitar, dancing, singing, and songwriting. She also is multilingual and speaks English, Spanish, French, and Greek.
