Kyle Marvin
Birthplace – Portland, Oregon
Kyle Marvin is a writer/producer/director/writer/actor who established his name as co-creator (with partner Michael Covino) of The Climb (2019), which Marvin co-wrote with Covino, produced and starred in, expanding from a short film in 2017 which Marvin co-wrote and produced. The short premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, while the feature premiered in the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard section.
Before this, Marvin worked as a producer on a handful of indie features (as well as three shorts), including writer-director Morgan Krantz’s Babysitter (2015); writer-director Sam Kretchmar’s Keep in Touch (2015); writer-director Josh Locy’s Hunter-Gatherer (2016), premiering at the South by South film festival); and writer-director Justin Tipping’s Kicks (2016), premiering at the Tribeca film festival).
Following The Climb, Marvin produced writer-director Ryan Maxey’s documentary, One Road to Quartzite (2022), and writer-director Daniel Antebi’s God’s Time (2023), as well as co-starring in the Apple TV series, WeCrashed (2022), with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. Kyle Marvin was director-producer of the NFL-set comedy, 80 for Brady (2023), starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Sally Field, and Tom Brady, opening in early February 2023 and projected to gross over $30 million globally.
