Kiernan Shipka

Kiernan Shipka (birthname: Kiernan Brennan Shipka) has been acting since she was a baby (on an episode of E.R. (2000) at five months old, and after small roles in minor movies like Dimension (2007) and Lower Learning (2008), Shipka had her first major credit at ten years old in Paramount Pictures’ post-apocalyptic movie, Carriers (2009), written and directed by Alex and David Pastor and co-starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Chris Pine, and Piper Perabo.

Shipka had her first starring role in co-writer/director Andrew Droz Palermo’s thriller, One & Two (2015). Then Shipka co-starred with Emma Roberts, Lucy Boynton, and Lauren Holly in the horror movie, The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015), written and directed by Osgood Perkins and released by A24 after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival.

Kiernan Shipka starred in the coming-of-age comedy-drama, Wildflower (2022), with Dash Mihok, Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Brad Garrett, Jacki Weaver, and Jean Smart under co-writer Matt Smukler’s direction, and distributed by Momentum Pictures following a Toronto film festival premiere. Shipka was supporting the political mock documentary, Maximum Truth (2023), starring and co-written by Ike Barinholtz and directed by co-writer David Stassen, with Dylan O’Brien and Tony Rodriguez.

Shipka reunited with writer-director Osgood Perkins, playing a survivor in the serial killer horror movie, Longlegs (2024), starring Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Blair Underwood, and Alicia Witt, and released by Neon. Shipka then supported stars Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones in the Universal Pictures/Warner Bros. stand-alone sequel, Twisters (2024), directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

Kiernan Shipka co-starred with Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons (as Santa Claus) in the $250-million-budgeted Christmas movie, Red One (2024), directed and produced by Jake Kasdan, and distributed by Amazon MGM Studios (U.S.) and Warner Bros. (ex-U.S.). Shipka played opposite Charlie Hall in one of her first rom-coms, debuting co-writer/director Jordan Weiss’ Sweethearts (date to be announced), produced by New Line Cinema and Pictures.

Shipka joined the ensemble of the Gia Coppola-directed backstage drama, The Last Showgirl (date to be announced), co-starring Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, and Billie Lourd. Shipka landed her first title role in the 1980s-set revenge thriller, Stone Cold Fox (date to be announced), with Krysten Ritter, Kiefer Sutherland, Karen Fukuhara, and Mishel Prada, under co-writer Sophie Tabet’s direction.
