Kelsey Mann

Kelsey Mann is a longtime storyboard artist and animation story supervisor who has risen to the ranks of director on feature projects for his creative home at Disney/Pixar. Mann has worked in several different posts of animation production in Los Angeles since 2000, including two years at Warner Bros.

Animation, three years at the Cartoon Network (as storyboard artist, episodic director, and post-production director), and has been at Pixar Animation Studios since 2009, primarily as story supervisor on Monsters University (2013), under Dan Scanlon’s direction; The Good Dinosaur (2015), under Peter Sohn’s direction; and Onward (2020), again under Scanlon’s direction.

Mann was a member of the Pixar Senior Creative Team on the Disney/Pixar features Luca (2021), Turning Red (2022), Lightyear (2022), Elemental (2023), and Elio (2025). Mann debuted as a director, as well as story writer, for the long-awaited sequel, Inside Out 2 (2024), starring the voices Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adele Exarchopoulos, Kensington Tallman, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Liza Lapira, and June Squibb, and released wide by Disney.

Personal Details

Kelsey Mann was born and raised by his parents in Burnsville, Minnesota. Mann graduated from high school and then attended and graduated from Northern Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration.
