Jimmy Tatro (birthname: James Richard Tatro) is one of the first actors in the movies who made his name as a YouTube personality and creator—specifically, the creator of the hit channel, LifeAccordingToJimmy. Tatro’s feature debut was in the hit movie version of 22 Jump Street (2014), joining a colorful ensemble including Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Peter Stormare, Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Queen Latifah, and Diplo, under the co-direction of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Tatro’s next theatrically-released feature assignment was a supporting role in Tyler Perry’s hit comedy, Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016), starring Perry in multiple roles. Tatro’s first starring feature role was opposite Gary Busey in the comedy, Camp Manna (2018), co-written and co-directed by Eric Scott Johnson and Eric Machiela. In his first vocal performance for an animated movie, Tatro played a supporting role in writer-director Karey Kirkpatrick’s successful Warner Animated Group musical comedy, Small Foot (2018), starring Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, Danny DeVito, and Gina Rodriguez.

Another supporting role for Tatro was in the mildly profitable Jay Chandrasekhar/Broken Lizard comedy, Super Troopers 2 (2018), with Chandrasekhar, Kevin Hefferman, Steve Lemme, and Brian Cox, followed by Tatro earning a major supporting role in 20th Century Fox’s modestly successful buddy cop comedy directed by Michael Dowse, Stuber (2019), with Kumail Nanjani, Dave Bautista, Iko Uwais, Natalie Morales, Betty Gilpin, Mira Sorvino, and Karen Gillan. Tatro shifted to the horror genre for a significant supporting role in writer-director Jim Cummings’ The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020), with Cummings and Robert Forster.

One of Tatro’s biggest roles to date was co-starring with actor-creator Bert Kreischer in the role of “Bert Kreischer” in The Machine (2023), directed by Peter Atencio, followed by Tatro co-starring in the Molly Gordon/Nick Lieberman-directed Sundance Film Festival hit, Theater Camp (2023), with writer-director-producer-actor Molly Gordon, writer-producer-actor Ben Platt, writer-producer-actor Noah Galvin, and Amy Sedaris.
