Gerardo Davila

Gerardo Davila was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and grew up in Garland, Texas. He’s 1st generation, the oldest of five children and the first of his family to become an actor in the United States. In his late teens he applied his music background and formed a rap group called Latin Royalty that performed in and around the Dallas scene. After the group broke up, he later went by solo artist Master G. He later attended the University of North Texas studying Radio-TV-Film, subsequently giving up his musical aspirations as a young adult and began his acting career at the age of 29 jumping right into theatre at Teatro Dallas working with his first mentor and friend Cora Cardona. In 2004 he joined acting group Class Act Dallas, where he trained weekly for 16 years under the tutelage of his late mentor Daniel Foster. He attributes his success to being bilingual, consistent training, persistence, patience and dedication. He had another great mentor while in Los Angeles in 2015, the late Marta Dubois. In the Fall of 2019, he was accepted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where he trained with Brigit Panet, Andrew Tidmarsh and Salvatore Sorce and continues to return and train in RADA’s short course program. Over the last 18 years he consistently books film and television roles, national and regional commercials, spokes roles, print and voiceover for video games and Anime. He has appeared in many television shows such as Chicago Fire, Better Call Saul, Walker, The Purge, Queen of The South and The Vampire Diaries. In 2021 he landed his first recurring role in Paramount’s TV drama Long Slow Exhale. Among recent feature films he’s starred in include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad by director James Gunn, Root Letter, Adam the First and Ghoster. Gerardo is in pre-production for his directorial debut.
