Evin Ahmad

Evin Ahmad is a Swedish actor of Kurdish origin, who in a short period of time has become a household name, both at home and abroad. Ahmad has been nominated twice for the Guldbagge Awards (2018 – Dröm Vidare, 2020 – Ring Mamma!), Sweden’s equivalent to the Academy Awards. She was named Shooting Star at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2022. Evin Ahmad rose to stardom and recognition with her interpretation of Leya, the lead of the Netflix original Snabba Cash, from best-selling author Jens Lapidus. She is also known for starring in three seasons of the Danish post-apocalyptic Netflix series The Rain and the Swedish crime drama Netflix series Quicksand. Her film debut came in 2007 with an adaptation of Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s novel Ett Öga Rött (One Red Eye). Additional credits include Girls of the Sun, Tsunami, The Restaurant. During the fall of 2023, Evin can be seen playing the lead in the Netflix UK production Who is Erin Carter?, her major international break-through.
