Camila Cabello (birthname: Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao) is a Pop/Latin/R&B cross-over singer-turned-actor in high-profile, wide-audience movies.

In ten years—starting as a contestant on The X Factor, when she became a member of the hit girl group, Fifth Harmony, and then on to pop stardom as a crossover Latin/R&B singer—Cabello made her entry into features as a performer in such concert movies as Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour Live (2015), Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour (2018), and Shawn Mendes: In Wonder (2020).

But it was with her title lead role in Disney’s jukebox musical, Cinderella (2021), written and directed by Kay Cannon and with Nicholas Galitzine, Irina Mendel, Minnie Driver, Billy Porter, and Pierce Brosnan, that Cabello was able to launch a second career as a movie star.

Cabello then took on a co-starring voice role in DreamWorks Animation’s sequel, Trolls Band Together (2023), directed by Walt Dohrn and co-starring Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Anderson .Paak, Kenan Thompson, and Amy Schumer. Cabello was cast by actor-director-writer Chiwetel Ejiofor in a major role in Rob Peace (date to be announced), Ejiofor’s feature adaptation of Jeff Hobbs’ biography, The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace, with Jay Will, Ejiofor, Mary J. Blige, and Michael Kelly.

Camila Cabello was born in Havana, Cuba, and was raised in both Havana and Mexico City by her parents, her Mexican-born father, Alejandro Cabello, and her Cuban-born mother, Sinuhe Estrabao (architect). Cabello has one younger sister, Sofia. Cabello emigrated to the Miami area with her mother when she was six years old; her father joined the family 18 months later. Cabello’s parents eventually formed a construction company named after Cabello and sister Sofia. Cabello became a U.S. citizen in 2008.

After attending her first year at Miami Palmetto High School, Cabello dropped out of her fast-rising music career after she was recruited to join the pop girl group, Fifth Harmony, formed out of a group of contestants by producer Simon Cowell on the music contest show, The X Factor. Cabello has been in relationships with dating coach and writer Matthew Hussey, Canadian singer Shawn Mendes, and Lox CEO Austin Kevitch.  Cabello’s height is 5’ 2”.
