Brent McCorkle
Brent McCorkle has transitioned from work as an editor and composer to film director, working often with the Christian filmmaking duo The Erwin Brothers. After working as editor and composer on short films, McCorkle made his feature debut as director/writer/editor/composer on Unconditional (2012), starring Lynn Collins, Michael Ealy, and Bruce McGill, earning a global gross of $1.03 million which fell short of $2 million costs. His next Erwin Brothers project was the biographical documentary, Steve McQueen: American Icon (2017), for which he served as a composer. For the Erwins’ next film and their biggest hit ($86 million gross), I Can Only Imagine (2018), Brent McCorkle was both editor and composer. McCorkle was the composer for the Ben Smallbone-directed documentary, Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon (2022). He finally returned to the director’s chair (as co-director, with Jon Erwin) for the Christian drama, Jesus Revolution (2023), with Joel Courtney, Jonathan Roumie, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and Kelsey Grammer.
