Bethany Brown is an actress with over 15 years of experience. She can be seen starring in Buzzfeed and Lionsgate’s film F***, Marry, Kill, miniseries Plan B on CBC and CBC Gem, guest-starring on The CW’s Wild Cards, NBC’s The Irrational and CBS’ Watson. Previously she recurred in ABC’s The Good Doctor and CW’s Charmed, The 100 & The Flash.

In 2024, Bethany’s short film Meet Me en Rêve-which she directed, produced, and composed music for-achieved critical acclaim, winning Best LGBTQ Short at the Markham International Film Festival. It was also recognized in multiple categories at the Seattle Film Festival and Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival in New York, where it was nominated for Best LGBTQ Short, Best Cinematography, Best Original Song, Best International Short Film, and Best Lead Actress. Her storytelling talents and ability to craft resonant, inclusive narratives continue to gain international attention.

Bethany’s recent achievements include two 2023 Leo Award nominations: one for Best Supporting Actor in A Christmas to Savour, and another for Best Performance in an Animation Series for her work in The Supernatural Academy (Peacock). She was invited to co-host the Leo Awards in both 2023 and 2024. In 2022, she received Best Supporting Actress at the Paris Short Film Festival and Best Actor at the Symbiotic and IndieX Film Festivals for her powerful performance in the short film Gnaw, which went on to win seven additional awards. Her talent has been consistently recognized, with numerous nominations, including a 2022 UBCP/ACTRA Award nomination for her voice work in The Supernatural Academy and a Leo Award nomination for Journey of My Heart (Hallmark, 2022).

Beyond film and television, Bethany’s stage presence earned her a 2020 Jessie Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the play Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar. Her deep connection to the performing arts is rooted in her musical background; she began studying classical music at the age of three and, by nine, was a multi-award-winning professional violinist. A versatile musician, Bethany plays multiple instruments and has lent her singing talents to various projects. In 2021, her children’s music project The Treebees amassed over 10 million views per episode on YouTube, earning Grammy and Juno nominations and further showcasing her artistic range.

Originally from Burnaby, BC, Bethany was raised on a 100-acre farm in the Okanagan, where she spent her early years milking cows, collecting eggs, riding horses, and churning butter. She moved to Vancouver at 17 to play collegiate soccer in the NAIA for Simon Fraser University but returned to the arts after a foot injury ended her athletic career.
