Andrew Hyatt is a Christian-themed filmmaker who has been credited with the genre known as “Sacred Arthouse,” beginning his feature career as writer-director of the low-budget horror-thriller, The Frozen (2012), starring Brit Morgan, Noah Segan, and Seth David Mitchell, and produced by Fox Hill Productions and Troy Entertainment. Hyatt was director-writer of the apocalyptic thriller, The Last Light (2014), starring Ed Quinn, Edward Furlong, Jeff Fahey, and Molly Hagan, and released by Gravitas Features.

Hyatt directed and wrote his first historical film, Full of Grace (2015), dramatizing the last days of Mary of Nazareth portrayed by Bahia Haifi, with Kelsey Asbille, Parisa Fakhri, and Noam Jenkins, and which was released by Cinedigm. Hyatt was then director-writer of his second Biblical drama, Paul, Apostle of Christ (2018),  starring Jim Caviezel (also executive producer, Olivier Martinez, and James Faulkner, and grossing over $26 million (against a $5 million budget) for distributor Sony Pictures Releasing.

Andrew Hyatt reunited with lead James Faulkner as director/writer/producer of the drama, All Those Small Things (2021), with a cast including Kerry Knuppe, Aaron Dalla Villa, Gloria Laino, and Lacy Hartselle, which premiered at the Seattle Film Festival. Hyatt then directed and co-wrote the screenplay (with Stephanie Katz) for the biopic, The Blind (2023), co-starring Aron von Andrian, Amelia Eve, Knuppe, and Dalla Villa, and which was released by Fathom Events.

Hyatt continued as a filmmaker in the biopic genre as director and co-writer (with John Duigan and Buzz McLaughlin) of Sight (2024), starring Terry Chen, Greg Kinnear, Danni Wang, Raymond Ma, and Fionnula Flanagan, and released in a wide theatrical pattern by Angel Studios.

Personal Details

Andrew Hyatt was born in Longmont, Colorado, and was raised by his parents. Hyatt attended and graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. Hyatt then studied film production at Loyola Marymount University, from which he graduated with a BA degree. Hyatt has been married to actor and film development executive Joanna Repsold since 2010; the couple has three children. Hyatt’s height is 5’ 9”.
