Alan Ritchson (birthname: Alan Michael Ritchson) is most widely known for his portrayal of nomadic hero Jack Reacher on the series, Reacher (2023-present) based on Lee Child’s novels, but has also appeared in over a dozen features, starting with Lionsgate horror release, The Butcher (2006), with Catherine Wreford and Tom Nagel.

Ritchson co-starred with Ally Sheedy, Kate Siegel, Ruby Dee, and Chelsea Handler in writer-director Kyle Schickner’s multi-story film, Steam (2007), followed by another co-starring role in writer-director Christopher L. Miller’s modern-day Western, Rex (2008). He was raised by parents Vickie Ritchson (high school teacher) and David Ritchson (retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant) in Grand Forks, in Rantoul, Illinois, and Niceville, Florida. Ritchson has an older and a younger brother. Ritchson graduated from Niceville High School in 2001, while also being a dual-enrollment student at then-Okaloosa Walton Community College (now Northwest Florida State College), from which he graduated in 2003 with an Associate of Arts degree, and where Ritchson was a member of the school choruses, Soundsations, and madrigal choir. Ritchson has been married to writer-producer and financial planner Catherine Ritchson since 2006; the couple has three children, including son Calem. Ritchson’s height is 6’ 3”.
