Solet’s first feature Grace premiered at Sundance ’09 and won awards at festivals around the globe, called “downright chilling” by Variety and “a horrifying meditation” by the Los Angeles Times. Regarded for his intense story savvy as a writer for hire as much as his eye, he has since developed projects for producers Darren Aronofsky, Peter Berg, Jason Blum, Nicolas Chartier, Michael Douglas, Ron Howard, Aaron Ryder, James Patterson, and many more, working on television and movies of all sizes and genres at both the studio and independent levels. He wrote, directed and produced the highly-stylized existential crime thriller Bullet Head, starring Adrien Brody, John Malkovich, and Antonio Banderas, called, “brutally entertaining and clever,” by Richard Roeper of the Sun Times, and, “a gripping and resourceful edge-of-your seat ride,” by the LA Times, and was the lead writer and supervising producer for season one of the scripted and documentary television series MARS for Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment and Radical Media, one of National Geographic’s highest rated television shows to date. His hybrid documentary Tread, produced by Doug Liman (Bourne Identity) and Oscar-winner Glen Zipper (Undefeated), was nominated for a Grand Jury Award at SXSW 2019 where it premiered to rave reviews, called, “Remarkably absorbing and suspenseful,” by Variety, and,”Genius,” by Film Threat. Solet is known by his peers, producers, casts and crews, as one of the most passionate and prepared filmmakers they have ever encountered.
