The son of Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding, Jr., Mason Gooding is a young, ambitious actor who has compiled a series of credits in high-quality cable and streaming, as well as features. His film debut was in Olivia Wilde’s own superb directorial debut, Booksmart (2019), with Beanie Feldstein, Kaitlyn Dever, Jessica Williams, Lisa Kudrow, and Will Forte.
Gooding next appeared with the ensemble of the Netflix Christmas comedy, Let It Snow (2019), with Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, and Joan Cusack. Los Angeles-born Mason Gooding was raised by actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Sara Kapfer. He has two siblings, Spencer and Piper, and comes from a show business family, including paternal grandfather Cuba Gooding Sr., lead of the R&B group, The Main Ingredient, and uncle, actor Omar Gooding. Gooding attended Windward High School in Los Angeles, where his focus was on theater and football, and then studied dramatic writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He dropped out of university to pursue his acting career.
