Madelaine Petsch

Madelaine Petsch (birthname: Madelaine Grobbelaar Petsch), though best known for her portrayal of Cheryl Blossom on the CW’s hit series, Riverdale (2017-2023), has built a diverse career as a YouTuber and feature film actor, beginning with a small role in co-writer/director David Yarovesky’s sci-fi horror movie, The Hive (2014). Petsch landed a supporting role in another horror movie, The Curse of Sleeping Beauty (2016), co-written and directed by Pearry Reginald Teo and released by XLrator Media.

Petsch continued her run in horror movies with a supporting role in the Lars Klevberg-directed supernatural horror movie, Polaroid (2019), co-starring Kathryn Prescott, Samantha Logan, Tyler Young, Javier Botet, and Mitch Pileggi, and released by Vertical Entertainment (in the US) and Lantern Entertainment (rest-of-world) as the final film produced by Harvey and Bob Weinstein’s Dimension Films, before it declared bankruptcy in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.

Madelaine Petsch had her first starring role and was co-producer of writer-director Cooper Karl’s psycho-thriller, Sightless (2020), which went direct to digital and on-demand via MarVista Entertainment. Petsch was again star and producer of the thriller, Jane (2022), co-starring Chloe Bailey and Melissa Leo, and released theatrically by Blue Fox Entertainment.

Petsch was cast in a supporting role in the Maryus Vaysberg-directed rom-com, About Fate (2022), an English-language remake of the 1976 Soviet-produced TV feature, The Irony of Fate co-starring Emma Roberts, Thomas Mann, Britt Robertson, Wendie Malick, Cheryl Hines, and Lewis Tan, and released to poor box-office returns (under $1 million) by United Artists Releasing. Petsch starred in her biggest production to date, under Renny Harlin’s direction in Lionsgate Films’s three-part horror thriller, The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024), with Froy Gutierrez and Gabriel Basso, followed by The Strangers: Chapter 2 (2024) and The Strangers: Chapter 3 (2024).
