Born in Tampa, FL, Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Alfonso is a veteran character actor and comic, a producer and entrepreneur.
Raised on baseball fields, he spent his early years following his funny Dad around while learning to hit the curveball. In 1989 and after four years playing college baseball, the Austin Peay graduate and a new Dad himself, spent two years in Law enforcement as an Investigator for the State Attorney’s Office in Tampa, sold Life Insurance and Securities for a year and spent over three years as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep.
In 1994 and while still in Pharmaceuticals, Kenny was transferred to Atlanta and on a whim, pursued a childhood dream and began taking acting and improv classes. After early success on stage, in commercials and indie films, he threw a curveball of his own and left Big Pharma in 1995 to became a full-time Actor/Comic/Waiter.
Fast forward some three decades and the accomplished performer is a regular on Film and TV, has performed on sketch comedy and improv stages from coast to coast and his commercial credits are 80 plus.
Recurring television roles include Tulsa King, Filthy Rich, Nashville, Wolf Pack, Long Slow Exhale, Saints and Sinners, Stargirl, The Have and Have Nots, Marry Me and six seasons on Drop Dead Diva.
Other notable credits including; Dopesick, NCIS – New Orleans, The Resident, The Thing About Pam, Jerry and Marge Go Large, The Founder, Creepshow, Hightown and Prison Break.
Kenny Alfonso has worked alongside Academy Award winning actors Michael Keaton twice (Dopesick, The Founder), Renee Zellwegger (The Thing About Pam), Annette Benning (Jerry and Marge Go Large) and Patty Duke (Drop Dead Diva) as well as Oscar winning Directors Barry Levinson, Tate Taylor and David Frankel.
From 2005-2007, he was the ‘Barkitect’ on Barkitecture, a ‘How To’ show on the D.I.Y. Network and HGTV. Kenny built custom doghouses for rescued and adopted dogs and their new forever families.
Kenny Alfonso won the ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’ award for The Bank at the LA Live Film Festival in 2022 and won the ‘Best Lead Actor in a Drama’ award for The Crossing in 2021 at the South Film and Arts Academy Festival.
He makes his home in Atlanta with his partner since 1999, actress Melissa Ponzio, (Chicago Fire, Teen Wolf, Walking Dead).
