Emyri Crutchfield (birthname: E’myri Lee Crutchfield) is a young actor who made her first impact on television, first in the remake of Alex Haley’s novel, Roots (2016) and the Amazon Prime series, The Kicks (2016). She played the daughter of Keegan-Michael Key’s and Regina Hall’s parents in her feature debut, Vacation (2015), the road comedy starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

After a solid string of television work (including a guest appearance on the acclaimed HBO series, True Detective), Crutchfield appeared opposite Wendell Pierce and Karen Kaia Livers in (then 19-year-old) Phillip Youmans’ highly praised Burning Cane (2019), winner of three prizes at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, including best narrative feature and best actor. After appearing in a repeating role in season five of Noah Hawley’s hit FX series, Fargo (2020), Crutchfield co-starred in David Slade’s horror movie, Dark Harvest (2022), with Casey Likes and Dustin Ceithamer.

Personal Details

Born in New Orleans, Emyri Crutchfield was raised by her mother and her father, Cleavon. Crutchfield was home-schooled for several years while commuting to Los Angeles for auditions and professional acting training, starting when she was eight. Crutchfield was selected when she was fourteen for a youth sketch comedy training academy in Los Angeles co-produced by Nickelodeon and The Groundlings comedy troupe. During her high school years, Crutchfield attended Ursuline Academy in New Orleans.
