Ashley Park (birthname: Ashley Jini Park) is a brilliant actor-singer who has broken into features, but who has made her biggest mark (to date) in striking recurring roles in the hit streaming shows Emily in Paris (2020-present), Girls5eva (2021-present), and Beef (2023), and has garnered acclaim for her musical performances in Broadway and Regional American musical theater, including the national tour of Cinderella (2015-2016), Sunday in the Park with George (2017), Mean Girls (2018-2019) and Grand Horizons on Broadway.

Park’s feature debut was in writer-director-star Jake Wilson’s indie rom-com, Are You Joking? (2014). Ashley Park’s next feature performance was in the Jane Austin-influenced drama directed by Emma Holly Jones, Mr. Malcolm’s List (2022), starring Freida Pinto, Sope Dirisu, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ashley Park, Zawe Ashton, and Theo James, and released domestically by Bleeker Street. Park’s breakthrough feature performance was as co-lead in the acclaimed Adele Lim-directed comedy, Joy Ride (2023), with Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu, released by Lionsgate after premiering at the South by Southwest film festival.

Personal Details

Ashley Park was born in Glendale, California, and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Korean-American parents Andrew and Sara Park. Park’s sister is Audrey Park. Park’s second cousin is actor Justin H. Min. Park’s performance education started when she was only three years old (dance classes), followed by piano lessons, performing with the children’s theater in Ann Arbor, Michigan, until high school.

Park graduated from Pioneer High School, where she was active in choir and theater (and co-founded a female acapella group that placed second in a 2009 national competition), as well as attending Interlochen Summer Arts Camp. Park then attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the university’s School of Music, Theater, and Dance. Theatre Arts.

Some Facts About Ashley Park

Organization Woman: Ashley Park is co-founder of the Michigan Performance Outreach Workshop, which she helped create while attending the University of Michigan.

Health Challenges: Park experienced a bout of leukemia when she was 15 and survived, and quickly landed the lead role in her high school’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
