Chyna Robinson

Winner of several Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Film awards on the national and international film circuit, Chyna Robinson is a writer, director and producer originally from Texas. Her directorial work includes short historical drama Greenwood: 13 Hours, short thriller Lola Lisa, and most recently, her feature debut, romantic thriller No Ordinary Love. After receiving multiple accolades from Best Film to numerous Best Edit and Best Actor awards in several Oscar qualifying festivals, No Ordinary Love was released in June 2021, with USA Today citing the film as one of the “Biggest Summer Movies of 2021.”Robinson is has just completed production on a short love story, starring Marla Gibbs (The Jeffersons, 227) and Hal Williams (Sanford and Son, 227). The two have not been cast as a couple since the successful five season run on 227.Featured at the 2020 American Black Film Festival, and recognized at SXSW as a “Female Filmmaker to Watch,” she is committed to telling compelling stories with women and people of color in key roles in front of, and behind, the camera.
