Combining his good looks and comic charm, Josh Duhamel (birthname: Joshua David Duhamel) has become one of the more affable rising stars in recent Hollywood movies. In one of his most prominent roles to date, he co-starred with Jennifer Lopez in the crime comedy, Shotgun Wedding (2022).

After working as a model and acting in the long-running soap, All My Children, from 1999 to 2002, Duhamel made his feature debut as Dorian Gray in a low-budget production of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray (2004), quickly followed by another title role in the acclaimed comedy, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004).

After a leading role in the thriller, Turistas (2006), with Olivia Wilde, Josh Duhamel became part of the running ensemble of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, first with Transformers (2007), with Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, and Anthony Anderson; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), with the same cast; then Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), with John Malkovich and Frances McDormand joining Bay’s ensemble; and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), with Duhamel the only actor of the original ensemble continuing, and joining Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, and Anthony Hopkins.

John Duhamel has also specialized in romantic comedies, including The Romantics (2010), with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin; When in Rome (2010), with Kristen Bell and Will Arnett; Life As We Know It (2010), with Katherine Heigl; Garry Marshall’s New Year’s Eve (2011), with Halle Berry and Jessica Biel; Safe Haven (2013), based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel, with Julianne Hough; George C. Wolfe’s comedy, You’re Not You (2014), with Hilary Swank and Emmy Rossum.

Greg Berlanti’s Love, Simon (2018), with Nick Robinson and Jennifer Garner; and writer-director Vicky Wight’s The Lost Husband (2020), with Leslie Bibb. Minot, N.D.-born Josh Duhamel was raised by mother Bonny and father Larry, with younger sisters Kassidy, McKenzie, and Ashlee. Duhamel earned a B.S. degree in biology at Minot State University and planned to become a dentist. Josh Duhamel was married to Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie from 2009 to 2019; the couple has one child, Axl Jack Duhamel. His height is 6’ 4”.

Model Man: Josh Duhamel won the Male Model of the Year contest held by the International Modeling and Talent Association, just beating out competitor Ashton Kutcher.

Restauranteur: Duhamel once co-owned a restaurant in his hometown of Minot.
