Jake Allyn is an actor, writer, and producer best known for his recurring role as a college football player on BET’s The Quad (2017-2018), but who has worked in various disciplines in feature filmmaking, starting with a supporting role under the direction of his brother, Conor Allyn, in the crime drama, Zoe Gone (2014), with Samantha Hanratty.

Allyn once again was cast under brother Conor Allyn’s direction in the crime drama, Pocket Listing (2015), with James Jurdi, Logan Donovan, Rob Lowe, and Burt Reynolds, and then Jake Allyn was cast with lead James Duval in the horror thriller, Appetites (2015). Allyn was cast by director Jack Perez in the sci-fi thriller, Drone Wars (2016), produced by Cinetel Films and released by Anchor Bay, and then Allyn played support in co-writer/director Shana Feste’s thriller for Blumhouse Productions, Run Sweetheart Run (2020), with Ella Balinska, Pilou Asbaek, Clark Gregg, and Shoreh Aghdashloo, and which premiered at the Sundance film festival.

Jake Allyn reunited with director Conor Allyn as star, co-writer (with David Barraza), and producer of the U.S.-Mexico border drama, No Man’s Land (2021), co-starring Frank Grillo, Jorge A. Jimenez, Andie MacDowell, and George Lopez, and released to poor box office by IFC Films. Allyn then co-starred in the Christian romance based on Karen Kingsbury’s novel, Someone Like You (2024), directed by co-writer (with mother Kingsbury) Tyler Russell, and co-starring Sarah Fisher and Lynn Collins.

Allyn made his debut as a feature director and co-writer (with fellow actor Josh Plasse) of Ride (date to be announced), a modern-day Western about Texas bull riders starring C. Thomas Howell, Annabeth Gish, and Allyn. As a producer-only, Allyn was an executive producer on Edge of the World (2021), directed by Michael Haussman, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Josie Ho, and Dominic Monaghan, and written by Allyn’s father, Rob; and also a producer on the drama directed by Remy Grillo and starring and co-written by Plasse, The Resurrection of Charles Manson (2023).

Jake Allyn has also been a screenwriter only on a loose, updated adaptation of Macbeth, Forsaken (2017), directed and co-written by (brother) Conor Allyn, and co-starring Morgan Taylor Campbell and Michael Grant, as well as co-writer (again) with Conor Allyn on the CIA-set thriller, ExPatriot (2017), with Charlie Weber, Valene Kane, and David Valencia.

Personal Details

Jake Allyn was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, by his father Rob Allyn (political consultant), and his mother. Allyn’s older brother is producer Conor Allyn. Allyn studied and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School, and then attended and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 2013. After university, Allyn worked in film production in Indonesia and then moved to Los Angeles, where he studied acting with acting teacher Scott Sedita and improv theater at The Groundlings. Allyn’s height is 6’ 3”.
