Dana Ledoux Miller is a Samoan American director/writer/producer and TV showrunner who rose through the ranks of TV production, first as a production assistant on Hawaii-based TV shows and movies, including Alexander Payne’s The Descendants (2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and Casa de mi Padre (2012), starring Will Ferrell, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.
Miller was a television executive story editor and writer from 2013 to 2022. Then Miller was recruited as a co-writer and a co-director alongside animator directors David G. Derrick Jr. and Jason Hand for Disney’s highly anticipated sequel, Moana 2 (2024), starring Auli’I Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson.

Dana Ledoux Miller was born in Long Beach, California, and raised by her parents in Long Beach and on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Miller’s father was born in Samoa, while her mother was born in the United States. Miller attended and graduated from the University of Hawaii’s Academy for Creative Media. Miller lives with her Hawaiian-born husband in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake.
